Overview

Model Portfolios contain predefined Investment Options for a superannuation plan.

Each plan can include multiple Model Portfolios, and each Model Portfolio can hold one or more Investment Options.

Model Portfolios are used to define standard investment allocations that can be applied consistently across member accounts.

Creating a New Model Portfolio

Follow the steps below to create a Model Portfolio manually or by using a Portfolio Target Set.

1. Access the Model Portfolio Tool

  1. Click [XPLAN] on the main toolbar.

  2. Select WealthSolver Functions > Tools.

  3. In the navigation menu, click Tools > Model Portfolios.

    • The Manage Model Portfolios page will display.

2. Create a Model Portfolio Using a Portfolio Target Set

A Portfolio Target Set can also be used to create a WealthSolver Model Portfolio.

XPLAN will automatically identify all superannuation plans that offer the securities listed in the selected Target Set.

Step 1: Click Add, then select Import from Portfolio Modelling Target Set.

The Import Target Set from Portfolios dialog box will open.

Step 2: In the Target Sets panel, select the relevant Target Set.

The Targets panel will update to display all superannuation plans containing Investment Options that match the Target Set securities.

Step 3: In the Matching Plans panel, click Show Missing Options.

This displays Target Set securities that do not have corresponding Investment Options in the plan.

Step 4: In the Matching Plans panel, select the superannuation plan you want to use.

Step 5: Click OK to create the Model Portfolio.
