User capabilities control the permissions that each user has within Xplan. As with all modules within Xplan, users require specific capabilities to use and/or manage Datafeeds.
Setting of capabilities needs to be done for each Site Datafeed Administrator, Firm Datafeed Administrator, Adviser and/or users supporting advisers.
This article guides you through the process of configuring users with the required Capabilities for datafeeds.
Capability | Functionality | Recommended for |
Access Stale Accounts Report | Allows a user to view and use the datafeeds Access Stale Accounts Report. This report will identify clients \ accounts that have not had any data supplied by the Platform in a defined number of days |

Administer External Adviser ID’s | Allow a user to add, modify, delete Adviser Mappings for other users. |

Configure System Datafeeds | Allow a user to configure datafeeds including setting the Default Values and creating Schedules per datafeed provider. |

Datafeed Adviser Summary Report | Allow a user to access the datafeed Adviser Summary report. |

Datafeed Audit Log Report | Allow a user to access the datafeed Audit Log report. |

Datafeed Reconciliation Summary | Allow a user to access the datafeed Reconciliation Summary report It is deemed Best Practice that all users be granted access to this report. |

Datafeed Import Summary Report | Allow a user to access the datafeed Import Summary report |

Datafeed Platform Summary Report | Allow a user to access the datafeed Platform Summary report |

Datafeeds Advanced Options | Allows a user to use additional options when performing datafeed refreshes. It allows a user to select the following options: 1. Delete existing data= YES/NO 2. Override date locks= YES/NO 3. Delete source= datafeed provider/Any Source 4. Date from: the ability to select the starting date of a refresh. Selecting this capability automatically grants Refresh Datafeed capability which Allows a user to access to perform datafeed refreshes. It is recommended that this capability is only given to Datafeed Administrators |

Define Account Name Format | Allow a user to override the default Account name generation |

Edit Datafeed Data | Allows a user to directly edit portfolio data maintained by a datafeed. This may be required if additional data against a transaction is not provided. |

Map Datafeed Clients | Allows a user to link the platform client to a Xplan client. |

Modify System Datafeed Field Definitions | Allows a user to modify the mappings of values (e.g. phone number types) to field definitions within Xplan where sites have altered the standard field definition setup |

Modify Own External Adviser ID’s | Allows a user to add, modify, delete their own Adviser Mappings. |

Refresh Datafeeds | Allows a user to perform datafeed refreshes. |
|
Search External Adviser ID’s | Allow a user to access to search for External Adviser ID’s. |

Unmap Datafeed Clients | Allows users to unmap external clients. Selecting this capability automatically grants ‘Map Datafeed Clients’: Allows users to map external clients. |

View Datafeeds | Allow a user to access\view the System Datafeed module. |

Whilst in the capability’s module, you will see other capabilities within the Datafeeds Capability group that are not listed in the table above. These are not required for the importing of datafeeds in Xplan via IressNet, and do not need to be configured. E.g. Automate Datafeeds, Import Datafeeds, Show other Users Datafeeds
